Out of the Blogosphere

Out of the Blogosphere

I have a question. I've been in a lot of real time chats. I like this party a lot better. In a real time chat, everything goes by really fast, and you have to keep scrolling up and down to see all the posts.
What do you all think? Do you like this the same as a real time chat? More less? Why?

I guess it depends on my mood. I like real time chats because I feel like I get more out of it as far as meeting people. But it does move too fast.

I like the blog thing because I can take my time reading. But it's a lot to read and check on - with so many posts it takes a lot of scrolling.

So I guess I like both of them, just depends on my mood and the time chunk I want to spend.

I agree with Danny. I live in Finland and time difference would make taking part in real-time chats quite tricky.

I like the blog parties much better, because I like to be able to take my time reading the posts. With the chats they move too fast for me. I'm kind of pokey I guess, so this works much better for me. :)

I like this better. I agree with Bamabelle, I tend to read a blog, then go back later and answer.

Real time chats are more stressful for authors, I think. A lot of people are asking questions, and you're trying not to miss any. This is easier to handle. And it's more like writing a book. If you think of something brilliant later, you get a chance to say it!

I like both, but I think blog parties are a lot more relaxed then a chat. Plus its fun to check back and see what else people have added to the convo

I used to be a huge fan of real time chats, but since I'm such a night person, nobody was ever on. I find blogging so much more convenient and nothing is missed. I've spent literally hours on here reading all the blogs and posts. I don't feel rushed to read through everything, I know that if I've missed something today, it'll still be there tomorrow. I definitely prefer this way. This is one rockin' party :D

Chat rooms can be fun but I agree with you on the scrolling, its a big pain. Especially if you have to get some coffee, answer a phone or answer the doorbell and come back to see you missed the last hundred messages. Blogging like this is much more fun. You scroll and read posts on your own time without hurry. You can always backtrack if you need to. And no annoying PM's either. Another added bonus is all you great authors and fans posting. You add life and fun to this party. Truthfully I've never been to a blogging party and this is my first. I am really enjoying it. I hope this is only the first of many more to come.

I like these because I don't have to stay online for an entire hour or how ever long to keep up. Plus my internet is not the greatest so sometime real time chats are difficult because sometimes I end up behind because my computer cannot keep up.

I don't like chat rooms. I agree, Rebecca, they move too fast and sometimes you can't get your question answered or talk to a particular author as much as you'd like. A good example would be those big holiday Writerspace chats.
I like this better. It's as if I'm speaking to everybody one on one. Questions get answered. It's like e-mailing back and forth.

I like both. But it depends on the mood.

Chats are fun but, of the two, I prefer blog parties :)

I like both myself!

I agree that real time chats are more stressful. Also, sometimes you just can't go to one because you have something else to do. This way you can find time to visit and make some comments and you don't have to sit for an hour trying to keep up with everything!

I've enjoyed the party, and am liking it like this. That way if real life interfers you can catch up
